Buzz Lightyear Toddler CostumeA phenomenal story line was invented that had to do with toys that came to life. These toys became so well liked that stores and web sites started to market the Toy Story 3 costumes very successfully. They were being worn at parties and Halloween.

In 1995 we met Sheriff Woody and fell in love with him. Then Buzz Lightyear entered the scene and tried to replace Woody as the favorite of Andy, the human child. Woody was very jealous and tried hard to get rid of Buzz, however in trying to accomplish this they vanished. Woody and Buzz decide it is best to join together with the goal to get back to Andy before he moves away. They must also evade the dreaded toy killer, Sid Phillips.

In the one released in 1999 an evil toy collector kidnaps Woody and Buzz comes to the rescue. Woody has an arm broken off in this story but he is able to have it repaired. After many adventures Woody and Buzz are returned safe and sound to Andy.

Toy Story 3 is to be released this year. The projected release is the summer of 2010. Andy is off to college and the toys are left on their own to have new adventures.

The characters that have costumes available are Sheriff Woody, Buzz Lightyear, Cowgirl Jessie, Rex, Bo Peep, Alien, and the Green Army Man. There are costumes for toddlers, children and adults. You can order accessories separately such as hats, bandanas, and guns.

The costumes are washable as most of them are polyester. The basic package usually has a jumpsuit. Options items that can be ordered are makeup and footwear. With the Buzz Lightyear package you will receive a very realistic jumpsuit, a hood that detaches, a jet pack, glowstick, and covers for your boots.

The order for Woody will contain a great vest that has an attached star and black satin back. There is a red bandana and a shirt with pearly buttons. The order contains jeans with an elastic back on the waistline and attached to the jeans are a super pair of faux suede chaps. Woody also wears a hat and a belt and holster, which you can buy as options.

The Cowgirl Jessie outfit consists of a jumpsuit that has a western belt attached to it. The cow-print chaps and cuffs are very stylish as is red hat and hair bow. The super cowgirl boots do not come with this package but they really finish it off.

Cute little Bo Beep has a pink and blue dress. There are blue bloomers and a hat and staff. The smart little shoes are not included. The outfit should not be washed as there is quite a lot of trim so it should be spot cleaned.

The Alien costume is fun. Wearing that blue polyester jumpsuit that closes with Velcro is great fun. The funky Pizza Planet Logo is blazed on the chest. There is a foam belt and the mask made of poly foam which has three eyes, ears, and antenna and is quite incredible.

The phenomenal success of these movies has created an incredible market for the Toy Story Halloween costumes. With the new release there are new characters already available. There will probably be more once it is discovered which characters in the new release are popular.

Toy Story Costumes for Halloween Don’t Mean Just Woody or Buzz Lightyear

Posted on September 15th, 2009 by Dave

When it comes to choosing Halloween costumes it seems as though Buzz Lightyear, Woody, and Jessie are perfect selections because it’s like their characters were drawn for the occasion. You would be hard pressed to to find a film that inspired more Halloween outfits than the animated Toy Story.

Choosing Unique Toy Story Costumes

If you?re looking for Toy Story costumes this Halloween, you can always rely on the famous cowboy and leader of the toys, Woody, cowgirl Jessie, and space ranger action figure Buzz Lightyear costumes to be a huge hit. But why not go a little off the beaten path and consider one of the lesser known, but still recognizable, toys from the hit movie?

After all, there?s no reason that Toy Story costumes should be limited to the three main characters. Here are a few examples of other Toy Story characters that would make great Toy Story costumes:

Little Bo Beep

Bo Peep Toy StoryThis toy is modeled after Little Bo Beep from the popular children’s story. In the first movie, Bo Beep plays the object of Sheriff Woody’s affections, so this Toy Story costume would work great as a couples costume. You can probably find what you need to create a cute shepherdess ensemble at a local thrift shop.

Hamm the Piggy Bank

Hamm really stole the show for many fans of the Toy Story films. Purchasing a pig costume would allow you to create a Toy Story Halloween costume in Hamm’s image rather easily. He is a piggy bank, so you just need to make it obvious that there’s a coin slot on the back and a cork on the tummy. Of course you can simply find a ready-made Hamm costume online if that’s more up your alley.

Hamm & Mr. Potato Head

Try Mr. Potato Head

A large plastic toy with colorful detachable body parts, Mr. Potato Head is an outspoken character with a sarcastic tone in the movie. And he makes a great Toy Story costume. The challenge here is with creating the interchangeable parts, but imagine the possibilities! You could wear a different Mr. Potato Head costume for each party you go to.

And, for girls, Mrs. Potato Head is a great Toy Story costume choice. She looks similar to Mr. Potato Head, with more feminine looking features. Again, Mrs. Potato Head Toy Story costumes are a great way to show off your creative side!

Sarge Takes Charge

Everyone remembers the leader of the green plastic toy soldiers, Sarge. His character is still quite popular and it’s simple to copy his green army uniform for a one of a kind Toy Story costume.

Whether you go with Bo Peep, Mr. Potato Head, Sarge or Hamm, you’re sure to have a hot and unique Toy Story costume. Why would you want to be like everyone else and blend in with the crowd as Buzz Lightyear, Woody or Jessie when you could be the life of the party as your own creation?
